Tuberculosis
Control
Programme
The
Directly
observed
treatment
(DOT)
programme
was
started
in
the
year
2001
in
collaboration
with
the
Mumbai
District
Tuberculosis
Control
Society.
The
medicines
were
provided
free
of
cost
to
people
who
were
referred
by
the
MCGM
dispensaries
/
health
centres.
Under
the
DOTS
programme
the
patient
was
called
at
the
centre
at
a
scheduled
time
and
was
administered
medicine
by
the
volunteer.
In
case
of
irregularity
the
volunteer
would
home
visit
to
administer
the
medicine.
In
a
span
of
seven
years
we
covered
34
patients.
This
service
has
been
discontinued
since
2008.
